Bitch or Assertive??? WHAT Is The Difference?

This topic is up for debate and I hope the true stories I’m about to share would be food for thought whether one was told IT is a bitch or assertive. The reason is simple: It will cost one MONEY!!!

These two stories have as purpose the goal to alert good, trusting people to WHAT might be the result of being reasonably trusting. The purpose is to PROTECT us, the consumers, NOT to publicly bring up the NAMES of certain companies which wronged us.

However, if you recognize yourself and a situation that happened to you in these stories, Please comment publicly or contact me privately.
Here are the two stories, BOTH of which happened to me this morning!
This WHAT made me think: AM I A BITCH, IMAGINING THE WORST, OR AM I REASONABLY AWARE AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE SO, OR LOOSE A LOT OF MONEY IN THE PROCESS OF NEGLIGENT oR UNQUALIFIED STRANGERS THINKING I AM “NICE…” OR STUPID!!!

Story #1

The employee of Pharmacy X, a national chain which I use exclusively, inform me that one my insurance is NOT covering one of My medications and I will have to contact both My doctor and the insurance to get approvals.
My experience in the past, with SAME medication, was that depending on WHAT pharmacy employee was sending the requests to My insurance, the results ranged from being told the medication was NOT covered at all and I had to pay over $340 for a month supply, or… the copay was $45 which of course I BELIEVED and paid! The following month, a competent employee put through my prescription and miraculously the co-pay was $15!
I questioned the fluctuations from over $300 to $45 to $15 and got NO WHERE so, tired, I decided to give up the “fight,” to discover the truth, assuming in the future I was going to pay $15.
Wrong! Today, I was told My medication was NOT covered at all and I will have to call for approvals! I explained to the employee WHAT happened in the past and also that I had TWO insurances covering my meds, did she send the request to BOTH? At that point, she became aggravated that I had the nerve to question her! I asked to speak to a manager and was on hold for 14 minutes, then conveniently disconnected!
The good surprise was that someone called me back to inform me My co- pay WAS $15!!!
I did NOT need special approvals or to pay over $300!
I was grateful and as I was starting to thank the person who called me back, she said abruptly:
“Do you want it for $15 or not?!!!”
“Yes… “I barely had time to confirm as she disconnected me!

Food for thought: Was I right to question the pharmacy employee, given the fact that I was Proven correct and NO fight with the insurance company was necessary, furthermore I was misinformed and ripped Off in the past! Maybe, for others paying $45 instead of $15, ir Even $340 plus is okay, to just be considered “nice” by someone who is negligent and unethical! For me, Every $ counts and Even if I were rich, I would choose to spend money rewarding kind, thoughtful and competent people!

Story #2
House appraisal

Last week an interior appraisal of my house was done. Today, I received the written report in the mail and some of the remarks were so far from reality that it made me question if the person who performed the inspection was a professional!
Appraising one’s house is always done for serious reasons. It’s not like we wake up one morning and think: “ I feel like having blueberry pancakes… oh… wait! Having my home appraised sounds like more fun! Let’s pick up a stranger off of the street and have her come in and take pics of the inside of my home!”
By the way, this was A JOKE!
Given the seriousness and possible consequences of a real estate appraisal done by someone incompetent, I called the Pennsylvania Real Estate Appraisers Board to check if the woman sent by the BANK who appraised my home was licensed.

Surprise:
She WAS NOT licensed and was therefore not authorized to perform real estate appraisals under the name and license number of someone else in that Office who was not present in my home or outside! My Bank hired a firm assuming they will use licensed professionals. They didn’t! So… without Namibia the bank, ALL Banks, make sure you contract with licensed appraisers, otherwise, you are hurting your business and clients!

So… do I let this person continue to destroy people’s lives and provide appraisals so far off from reality, people’s home values are completely wrong?

If you wonder why would a correct real estate be so important, please ask again when you want to get a line of credit, mortgage, sell or buy a house!

WHAT do you think I should do? File a complaint with the PA Real Estate Board of appraisals or let this person continue to perform illegal appraisals and because she is incompetent provide the banks the wrong information based on which, decisions are made?
If I file a complaint am I a bitch or assertive and protecting my interests?

  1. It is admirable and noble of you continue working toward an all incomparable goal. I sincerely hope individually you have enough success to believe a difference has been made. Some three decades ago we as a species began to enmesh ourselves into a world where ‘words’ began to mean nothing.
    Where between fact and belief — belief always won the day. Having doctorate degrees in both journalism and biopsychology, I spent 40 years fighting against the incoming belief of the majority of individuals heading toward a ‘fake’ world.

    Currently, all words, images, understandings, and social and/or personal endeavors between and among the human archetype have no connection with the actual world. I am one of the worlds most notable scientists working in the field of human behavior and it is an all in-composing fact that ‘perception’ is not simply important, perception is everything. Within all the earth’s population it is not important to know what you are talking about, it is only important to seem as if you know what you’re talking about. I, myself, am unmatched in that area of endeavor. I researched and investigated through 27 years to find the keys and the clues to be able to allow one or all individuals to see me and think of me as i wanted them to. All that work, both empirically and experimentally was to scientifically validate a truth I had believed for virtually all of my existence. We are now right currently in the middle of the age of the professional lier.

    There is no such thing as ‘truth’ or ‘fact’ anymore. Behaviorally speaking truth and facts are only what people want them to be. And we all are becoming more content with that on a daily basis. This all is the primary reason we as a species have past the ‘event horizon’ [point of no return] of being able to correct our understanding ‘circular causality’. I was asked to be on a ‘counsel of 12’ of the worlds most esteemed scientists within the necessary fields in order to determine what is the most likely way the world will end. The governments asked us to come up with the top 3. They are, in order of possibility, 3rd—Thermonuclear War. 2nd ‘Global Warming’. And # 1 BUGS; that is to say viruses, bacteria and the like. In any case civilization as we know it will discontinue in as little as 30 years due to the results of one of those 3. We have found ourselves in this unfortunate situation because of the ‘actual’ real worlds insistence on paying no attention to one or all peoples of the earth making a ‘fact or a truth’ only what they want it to be,

    Actual facts do not care if you believe in them; they remain the ‘facts’ as do the actual ‘truths’ within our existence; they also are not moved by your wanting them to be otherwise. The ‘truth is the truth’; it does not give a wit as to what we silly humans prefer it to be…it is the ‘truth’ of all that matters and remains so under natural law. Now, this is not a tale of woe. I and the like are not sad about there being no future; We spent our time; we had our chance; the human experiment was/is a huge failure. ‘Nature’ made a mistake and believed that modern man [who came about only 100 thousand years ago] would have the awareness and intellect to be proper care takers of this true paradise we were given. We fell embarrassingly short. We have defecated completely and irretrievably over our own and only home. It is most logical that we should now leave…and perhaps come again some other day.

  2. I think the best approach would be to contact the licensing board. Ask if they have a few minutes, briefly explain that you are questioning the legality of the appraisal, and why. Then ask for their advice on how to go about contesting (or voiding) it. I am afraid I don’t know enough about realty to be helpful on this one. I have asked my cousin Tabetha to read this post and weigh in. She has a professional background in property management. The only difference between being assertive and being a bitch is the approach to the situation. Both methods can be used to attain a specific goal. Sometimes when one doesn’t work, the other will. Then again, sometimes neither brings about the desired outcome… Good luck with all of this. I cannot fathom how this under-qualified woman is still employed! HUGS

    • Thank you. I already did call the Board of Real Estate Appraisers and they told me this person was NOT licensed and gave me the website where I Could File a complaint. My dilema is, since this woman if her substandard job would have been accepted and I didnt discovercshe is not qualified, would have harmed me, am I a “bitch?” If I File a complaint, to stop her from continuing to do unauthorized work which hurts people’s chances to a morgage or loan? In other words to I protect future victims of her substandard work, or I protect her by not filing a complaint, even though her work hurt me?

    • Thank you. I called the Boards, this is how I found out she was unlicensed and they told me how to File a complaint. My dilema is, would I have a bad guy if I complain? Or should I protect future people against her unqualified work? I have to add that My bank’s underwriter recognized the work was substandard and rejected it! A new, licensed appraiser is scheduled to come over.
